Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University (Arabic: جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية‎) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was founded in 1953. It is one of the most prestigious universities in the world for Islamic Studies. As of 2010, it has a total enrollment of over 37,000 students and over 2,800 instructors.

Since the establishment of the University, it has expanded continuously and in 2010 was composed of eleven colleges centered in Riyadh with branches in Qassim, Ahsaa and Medina. There are two specialized institutes in Riyadh, one for judiciary studies and the other for teaching the Arabic language to non-Arabic speakers. There are also institutes abroad for teaching Arabic and Islamic sciences in locations such as Ras Al Khaima, Mauritania, Djibouti, Indonesia, and Japan.

Imam Muhammad University is very strongly supported by the Saudi government, and has a mandate to expand into 'secular' subjects such as computer science, engineering, and medicine. Enrollment is booming, and construction projects dot the university campus as buildings sprout up to support the surge of new students. The university actively recruits professors from outside of Saudi Arabia, and also spends a lot of resources on developing young Saudis into future leaders through scholarships all around the world.

As of 2010, the colleges that exist in the university are the following:

  • College of Islamic Law
  • College of Fundamentals of Islam
  • College of Arabic Language
  • College of Social Sciences
  • College of Media
  • College of Languages and Translation
